Shira Miller Communications Takes Top Honors at PRSA Georgia's Annual Phoenix Awards Banquet

November 3, 2005, Atlanta, GA - Shira Miller Communications (SMC) won "Best of Phoenix" for Take Charge!, a national community relations project the boutique PR agency helped client Cox Communications launch in conjunction with Ketchum. Presented during the Public Relations Society of America, Georgia Chapter's annual Phoenix Awards banquet, the award is given to the most outstanding work out of the hundreds of entries received.

"Shira Miller was integral to the success of one of the biggest PR programs we've ever undertaken," notes Anthony Surratt, Executive Director of Public Relations for Cox Communications. "Her comprehensive communication skills were ideal for this project because Cox needed assistance in so many different ways."

SMC won four additional awards that evening. The firm took top honors with Cox in the categories of Reputation Programs and Issues Management (both for Take Charge!), the top prize for Creative Tactics (for launching All-In Chips, a poker chip company) and also a certificate of excellence for Press Kits (for All-In Chips). The Phoenix award is a competition designed by PRSA/Georgia to recognize projects and programs that demonstrate excellence in the public relations professions in Georgia. Judged by a surrounding area chapter, this award is based on how an event, publication, or creative tactic impacts the community.
