Cox Communications Selects Shira Miller Communications to Help Implement Their Take Charge! Community Outreach Program August 12, 2004, Atlanta, Ga. - In the wake of the 2004 Super Bowl halftime debacle and news reports about predators exploiting teens and children via the Internet, Cox Communications is creating a community outreach program called "Take Charge! - Smart Choices for Your Cox Digital Home." The broadband giant has tapped Shira Miller Communications (SMC) to help launch every aspect of this extensive effort. Working closely with the internal Cox Public Affairs team, SMC will develop web site content, a consumer brochure, template communication materials for each Cox system to use in building local coalitions and promoting the effort and national press materials.
