SHIRA MILLER COMMUNICATIONS WINS PRSA'S NATIONAL BRONZE ANVIL AWARD Strategic Tactics in PR Campaign Gets National Attention June 2007, Atlanta, Ga. - Shira Miller Communications (SMC) was the recipient of the coveted 2007 Bronze Anvil Award, sponsored by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Winners of this national award, which recognizes creative tactics in a public relations campaign, were acknowledged during the 2007 Silver Anvil Awards Evening held June 14 in New York City. Shira Miller Communications received the Bronze Anvil Award in the Media Relations- Consumer Products - Non-Packaged Goods category for its "ASSETS in America" campaign for Spanx Inc., the footless body-shaping pantyhose company dedicated to delivering the highest levels of quality, comfort, and innovation to women. SMC collaborated with Spanx's internal PR team, lead by Misty Elliott, to help launch the new ASSETS by Sara Blakely product in Target stores. Together, the team used PR to secure 75 radio segments nationwide, with nearly 20% of these hitting the top 30 markets nationwide. This effort proved to be a strong jump start to product sales, which significantly exceeded expectations.
