Moving on Up It used to be that the theme song from The Jefferson’s television show was one of many mid-1970’s references – along with bicentennial striped pants and Donny Osmond-like purple socks – that conjured up images of my elementary school years. However, in the past few days, it has taken on a new resonance in my life. That’s because our firm has moved into fancy new digs on the 9th floor of a beautiful office tower. And every time I look out on the killer views afforded by the large bank of windows, the Jefferson’s “Moving on Up” chorus fills my brain. Guess it’s officially the theme song for our business now. A couple of friends who have stopped by keep commenting on how “grown-up” this office is. Don’t get me wrong – it wasn’t like we sat on bean bag chairs on the floor before or had keg parties whenever clients were out of town. The difference, now, is that we finally had the chance to completely brand our space rather than subleasing it from someone else. We wanted to create a warm, welcoming office that conveyed our enthusiasm for PR and focus on generating results for clients. I know that my heart jumps with excitement when I round the elevator bank to see our ruby red wall with the SMC light bulb and exclamation point logo greeting you like a beacon. We’re glad to be here and deliberately selected a space that lets us expand in the future. If you’re suitably intrigued, let me know if you’d like to
