Here comes the SMC Bride/Bridezilla! It's the day that we all dream of as little girls, the dress, the flowers, the cake…the groom! Well, my day is soon approaching. After a surprise weekend in the mountains and a candlelit dinner, my high school sweetheart got down on his knee and popped the question. It was not 24 hours later that I had purchased the ultimate wedding guidebook/binder for all my planning needs along with at least 25 bridal magazines. Within a day, every relative, friend, co-worker and acquaintance of mine had heard the news, I was on cloud nine. I got to thinking about the term "bridezilla" and all of the negative stereotypes that go along with the phrase. Determined not to fall into this classification, I have begun reassuring myself that I am a lovely bride-to-be and I will never turn into the monster that we have all seen in our friends. After all, it is normal to think about the wedding every second of the day and talk to my planner more than my own mother…right? Okay, I admit it. I think that every bride has a little "zilla" in her somewhere, itching to get out. So, I guess that I am no different. As long as I can control my inner bridezilla, I bet that she can get some stuff done! - Courtesy of Lindsey |
