Gaga for Grey’s
06/06

I’ve never been a big television fan. Sure, I’ll watch a little VH1 while doing my cardio at the gym, or check to see who’s taking the lead on American Idol, but for the most part, I’ve always felt there are better ways to spend my time than to stare at a box. I’m not one of those people who flips on the tube as soon as I walk in the door or who needs it droning in the background to get to sleep. In the past few months, however, I have fallen in love with a show that has changed my take-it-or-leave-it attitude toward TV: Grey’s Anatomy.
I love this sexy hospital drama! I didn’t start watching it until this past January, right in the middle of its second season. After one episode, I was absolutely hooked. Like many other popular shows, the cast is beautiful and the conflicts abound. However, the quality which sets it apart in my opinion is that the people are realistic. With most shows, you know exactly who to love and hate, and your feelings remain pretty static. This is not the case with GA. The characters are dynamic and complicated, just like us.
I love the feeling of anticipation I get at the start of each episode. Will I root for McDreamy to leave Addison so Meredith can have him at last, or should he remain faithful to his wife? At some point, I have been annoyed or intrigued with every character on the show. Just when I think I am fed up with Alex, the arrogant intern, he does something noble to change my mind. In addition, the dialogue is witty, the background music is great, and the pace is quick. If you haven’t checked out this show, season one recently came out on DVD and in one rainy weekend, you too can experience television nirvana. I can’t wait for the season three premiere so my love affair can continue!
