DOLCE Opportunity: Emphasizing creativity and customization, Dolce is a premier specialty food store with the kind of mouthwatering treats people actually like to eat. Known for thinking "outside of the basket," the Atlanta-based retail store delivers a variety of delicious offerings ranging from a single truffle to an overflowing gift basket of goodies to customers nationwide. Yet Dolce had only scratched the surface of its true potential in gaining a larger market share locally with more year-round business. So Founder & Owner Laura Weiss hired Shira Miller Communications to help raise their visibility with prospective customers. Solution: Our PR efforts focused on leveraging Dolce’s essential points of difference – customization, flexibility and creativity – to build a brand position as the ultimate gift basket solution store. We positioned Laura as the “Gift Basket Guru” – able to dispense expert advice on helping people express any message in the most delicious way possible – and created a supporting press kit. Targeting both local and national audiences, this humorous campaign illustrates the warmth, fun and incredible knowledge resources of Dolce in an appealing manner. In addition to seeking feature coverage of Laura and the store, we promoted special theme baskets to local media as well. These efforts allowed us to secure placements with STAR 94 FM, Atlanta Magazine, Points North, Emory Magazine and Jezebel.
